Increasing Awareness of and Perception for a Healthcare Consulting Company

Verras, a company that helps hospitals identify variations in physician practice, and then helps facilitate implementation of changes to reduce variation.

Verras was a company with a product and service offering that could be of great value to its target client base of hospitals and health systems.  But it needed to generate awareness and simultaneously position itself as the go-to for this service to the CEOs and Chief Medical Officers of the target organizations.

Working closely with Verras senior management, L. Stern & Associates implemented a strategy to increase awareness and perception through generation of communications that offered examples of the benefits that could be derived through use of its products and services. LSA:

• Developed and wrote a blog that highlighted work Verras performed for clients that resulted in reduction of physician variation, improved outcomes and lower clinical costs

• Developed a monthly eblast that was distributed to the target market with links to the blog and other items of interest on the Verras Website

• Pitched a major healthcare publication to publish an article highlighting the work Verras did at one client organization, and then wrote the article in collaboration with both Verras and the client


• The blog and eblast were both widely read, resulting in numerous click throughs to the Website

• The blog generated leads

• A leading healthcare publication, HFM Magazine, published an article on the work Verras did with a hospital to reduce physician variation in treatment of sepsis, including results showing reduction in costs and length of stay
