A global pharmaceutical company

Situation:
The company needed a seasoned market research professional to manage numerous qualitative and quantitative market research projects related to a new product rollout.  This required two skill sets: the expertise to ensure the projects yielded the required results, and the ability to manage timelines and budgets. The company retained L. Stern & Associates (LSA) to provide these services.

Solution:
Working closely with management, L. Stern & Associates did the following:
Ensured the projects yielded the required results.  This included creating RFPs, selecting the most qualified vendor, directing the creation of screening and research documents, and providing input, reviewing and distilling analyses.
Managed projects to ensure they were delivered on time and on budget.  This included making sure vendor proposals met budget and timing requirements, managing the internal review process for screening and research documents, coordinating adjustment of screening criteria if necessary, and coordinating delivery of analyses.  It also included periodic updating to senior management of project status.
Prepared and presented summary market research results to cross-functional launch team.
Additionally, as this engagement occurred near the fiscal year-end, handled the budget and PO process to ensure Pos were processed and accrued for to align actual expenses with budget.

Results:
Numerous qualitative and quantitative studies were launched and/or finished.  These projects were on topics including segmentation, anticipated usage, preferences and positioning.  Studies involved both consumers/patients and healthcare providers
Projects were completed on time and on budget
The year-end budget process resulted in an actual spend virtually identical to the budget
